This six part book series embodies Anubis, the protector of graves and cemeteries, and the Egyptian God associated with mummification and the afterlife while also touching upon the fragility of existence with living things. This year’s body of work went from depicting the removal of power from the artist, as seen in Transitory Illusions, to being given full control over it. First starting out at the mercy of the gods to then taking over as one, so to speak.

The process of collecting roadkill for this series promoted further exploration into these concepts as well as helped carry over similar types of materials into later works such as The Sarcophagus Series and (520).
